My beautiful sister was murdered on May 9, 2005. She had just left my home which she did every evening between 8:30 - 9:00 pm. Someone was waiting for her to return home and ripped her from our lives as soon as she got out of her car in her garage. I too was murdered that night.

Shirley was a dedicated and loyal wife. She was a loving aunt and a wonderful, fun, goofy sister. She was a very strong person and I always envyed her for that.

Shirley was more than an animal lover. She would take any animal that was orphaned. During her adult life she shared her home with dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits, chickens, goats and even a sheep. Shirley did not have any children, but her animals were her babies.

Shirley was very crafty with her hands; from drawings, school projects, to creating any charactor on a birthday cake that any child wanted. She was a great friend not only to me, but to many others.

Everyone is horrified that this has happened to her, because no one has the right to take anyones life, especially someone as special as Shirley. I pray each night that whoever is responsible for taking her away from all of us within a minutes time, will pay for this.

LOSS OF A SIBLING

To lose a sibling is to lose oneself, For a part of me is gone… And now I’m left to reminisce As I try to carry on. The thought of you not being here Has torn my world apart… Yet everyday I feel you near; a blessing to my heart. Your memory comforts me today In ways I wish you knew… But tears are falling from the pain That comes from losing you. I see your face in the morning sun And in the moon at night… I wonder how you’re feeling now, I pray that you’re alright. And one day when my time has come To soar with eagles wings... We’ll be joined forevermore To laugh, to live, to sing.

It is sad to walk the road alone, Instead of side by side. But to all there comes a moment, When the ways of life divide. You gave me years of happiness, Then came sorrow and tears, But you left me beautiful memories, I will treasure through the years.

Every tear is a prism through which I see, A rainbow of emotions and memories, Though fate has led you to another place, True moments hold meaning time can never erase.
